With their unique combination of properties, fluoropolymers are important for industrial sectors in which the EU is determined to strengthen internal capacity and reduce dependence on other regions. Given the lack of scalable alternatives in critical applications, fluoropolymers are needed to help meet relevant EU objectives, including the European Green Deal, the Chips Act, REPowerEU for renewable energy and hydrogen, and the strategy for sustainable and smart mobility.
Convena calls for fluoropolymers to be exempted from the proposed PFAS restrictions.
