Convena Polymers expands SEMI F57 tested high purity materials portfolio for semiconductor applications

07.08.2026

High purity materials are becoming increasingly important as Europe continues to expand its semiconductor manufacturing capabilities. Driven in part by the EU Chips Act, new investments in production capacity are increasing demand for materials that can meet the semiconductor industry’s stringent purity and reliability requirements.

Convena Polymers is responding to this development with the availability of SEMI F57 tested PFA and PTFE grades for high purity applications.

The materials are suitable for demanding components and sealing solutions used in semiconductor manufacturing environments, where material purity, chemical resistance and consistent performance are critical.

For customers, the expanded portfolio offers important advantages. Access to qualified high purity materials can help reduce qualification risks, strengthen supply chain security and support compliance with the increasingly demanding specifications of semiconductor production processes.

With these PFA HP and SEMI F57 tested PTFE grades, Convena Polymers is further strengthening its materials offering for advanced industrial applications and is well positioned to support the next generation of high purity semiconductor applications across Europe.

SEMI F57 technical test details

Scope: The test framework applies to high-purity polymer materials and components used in ultrapure-water (UPW) and liquid-chemical distribution systems. The applicable report package identifies the tested material, grade, batch and test specimen.

Specification and methods SEMI F57, supported by SEMI F40 for sample preparation and analytical procedures, and SEMI F104 for particle-contribution measurement.
UPW extraction Sample exposure in ultrapure water at +85 °C for 168 hours (7 days).
Trace metallic contamination Leachable metals: 22 elements, including Fe, Cu, Ni, Zn, Na and Ca; stated limit ≤ 5 µg/m².
Ionic contamination Leachable anions and cations: eight ion species, including F⁻, Cl⁻, NO₃⁻ and SO₄²⁻.
Other reported criteria Total organic carbon (TOC), particle contribution to UPW and wetted-surface roughness (Ra).

Grade-specific confirmation available on request

The current report, including the accredited laboratory, report number, date and detailed results, is confirmed for the specific material grade and tested batch. It is not a blanket approval for every grade in a product family.
