FEP is highly resistant to chemicals, ageing and climatic influences. The polymer has good dielectric properties and a low dielectric constant. A low coefficient of friction gives the material its non-stick properties. FEP is processed using conventional thermoplastic methods. It is transparent and remains flexible at low temperatures. Like all fluoropolymers, FEP can be sterilised with steam or chemicals. Our CONflon FEP has FDA approval for contact with food.
Its high transparency makes FEP suitable for sight glasses and measuring systems. Combined with its non-stick properties, this makes it suitable for fluid-handling systems in the food industry. Its main applications are in the cable and wire industry (flame protection).
